You think that's a upside, but really it shows that no one wants to develop anything for mac Razz

Noone can make a virus for a mac/linux xD

By all means stay with windows, spend your money on virus protection, then watch a virus destroy your computer.

Not even a simple one? Surely someone could easily enough create a small program that just deletes all the files it can Razz

I spend no money on virus protection. Have AVG free. Never, in all my years of using Windows, I have never had a virus destroy or even slightly harm a computer of mine Wink

No, nothing can touch the core files of a mac/linux.

Windows on the other hand is just a command that deletes system32 xD

No, Hellblade, Macintosh makes the most restrictive products (for adults.). Macs are for the computer stupid who can't handle open-ended computers/operating systems.

Macs are just overall better.

No crashes, no freezes, etc.

@Gamesucker: You have that backwards, Mac is the one that makes open end stuff.
Windows is the people who close you off to that OS only.

"Clearly the majority of Mac viruses were intended for fun rather than harm."

Seems there are no real virus for them that can kill them like windows.

I'm pretty sure someone would have been able to at least freeze a mac Wink

The first part of what Gamesucker said was true Wink

Mac/Linux you can change every part of you windows without programs/hacks.

All that does on windows is slow down your computer.

EDIT: If Mac are for computer stupid people, windows must be for computer retarded people.

I don't have any major hacks/programs, but what I do have doesn't slow Windows down. And now days, with quad core CPUs and such, they should defiantly be able to handle more major ones Wink

What about softmodems? They aren't strictly windows based, but often don't have too much compatibility with linux, from what I had seen when I had dial up and was looking at linux distributions.

Being "virus proof" isn't a good thing...

it jsut means that it has WAYYYYYYYY too many security checks meaning any online game will have latency to Duck, any offline game will have incredibly limited FPS...

MAC's are wayyy too overpriced for what they are, hardware wise they're a piece of shit...

i'd like to see you run prototype or crysis on one of them things...

Linux, they're cool, but windows is still the best of them all, you can do anything on a windows machine that you can do on both linux's or mac's. However mac and linux systems are limited as to what you can do.

Mac is a media system, for editing pictures videos and music. Nothing more...

Linux is a developers system.

Windows is a global system to which anything an be done.

You can hardcore game on mac/linux.

My friend has a mac that is 5 years old (no upgrades to it) and they can run the sims 3, and many more games.
My windows can't run it, with it's default crappy hardware.

Heres what the difference in price is:

Mac = Uses mac software/hardware (never fails)

Windows = Uses 3rd party software/hardware (fails a lot)
