We have already had this kinda thread, it led to flame/spam.

Macs win over windows though.
NOTE:They only crash when you have no idea what your doing, and you mess stuff up.

Kris a lot of months ago when I had this same topic for a debate you locked it.....

Bunch of PC loving bastards I say.

Macs/Linux are for programmers, graphics designers, gamers, music makers, and hardcore gaming.
PC lovers are just to stupid to figure a Mac/Linux out.

Macs: Programmers you're not allowed anywhere near your system files, graphics designers you can do it on a Windows OP, gamers are you serious?!, music makers I've never tried so I'll give ya the benefit of the doubt., and hardcore gaming you must be ducking kidding me.

kite right, please show me a good example of a mac and hardcore gaming...

Show me a mac playing crysis on full detail or FEAR 2... then i'll believe you...

Music making is jsut as easy as it is on a PC considering you can sue the exact same pieces of software and pheriphals,

Graphics design, wow, mac's can handle photoshop too ey?

Show me an example of something a mac can do that a PC can't...

All the forums, and gaming site I have read say:Mac feature intel video cards.

And that, that means Macs can play all pc games.

A few people said they ran crysis on their mac with no lag/slowdowns, on max resolution, and settings.

Oh and about what can a mac do that a pc can't:Mac can reconize all hardwares. (windows can't do that)
Macs have open source programs, windows charges for just about everything.

So 1 word: PWNED Razz

I still can't tell weather your talking about the op or pc...
BTW, Mac (OP) has no command line, and you cant access your system files.

"Mac feature intel video cards."
Intel don't really do dedicated video cards do they? I haven't seen one anyway....
This laptop has an intergrated intel video card, and well, would have been better if my sister had got the model with the dedicated nVidia video card Wink (this was my sister's old laptop, bought it of her for 30 bucks when she got a new one Razz)

"Mac can reconize all hardwares. (windows can't do that)"
Just because it can recognize it, it doesn't mean it can use it Wink
And I find Windows to have very good compatibility with hardware - I've never had any hardware that it couldn't use.

"Macs have open source programs, windows charges for just about everything."
Microsoft does provide some good things for free - the Visual Basic Express Editions are free and quite powerful, MSDN is free and would be useful for a lot of people, Microsoft has DreamSpark where they give way their products for free to students. Microsoft Security Essentials seems to have a fair amount of positive feedback (don't use it myself). Heaps of people use Windows Live. And so fourth.

I'd also like to point out that macs (PC) are insanely expensive. You could build one yourself (with the same specs) and it would save you a couple hundred.

Macs are highly priced cause you pay for quality, and the apple name.
Windows is cheap cause you pay for.......well you know crap.

nVidia works on macs.

Kite. There are Macintosh only programs as well as windows only programs. It's simply because the OP's are coded differently, therefor they accept different inputs. You shouldn't judge a OP based on the programs that can run on it. That's like saying Wii is better than XBox360 simply because you can play Mario cart on the Wii. -.-

"The mac is built on the impossibly arogant notion that the programmers will have thought of everything you might want to do and planned for you the perfect way to do it. This is almost never true in real life.

It's a bit like having a car which has just one button on the dashboard marked "go home". Press the button and the car will go home. It's a triumph of engineering - the easiest car to drive ever created.

Unless you want to go somewhere other than home.

in which case you have to take the engine out or buy a new car.

and this extends to other apple products: take the ipod - beautiful piece of design and I wouldn't be without mine. But what if you don't want to use the clumsy Itunes? what if you just want to drag your tunes from the desktop to the ipod - you can do it with every other mp3 player on the market. But with the ipod, all your files are renamed and re-positioned so you can't tell which song is which file. so when itunes stops working -or when you're on a computer you haven't installed it on or when you're using your machine for something else and don't want to have it getting in the way - you're stuffed."

owned...

I don't see why you think mac's are so impressive kite,

Not only do they support VERY FEW programming interpretors (to those who do not know, an interpretor is a piece of software which reads programming and translates it into machine code so that the processor can handle it, required by C++, c#, f#, vb, vb.net, ruby, well... anything that isn't binary or assembly...)

mac's only like C++, which is why only some games work, because MAC's only use the latest regulations of the C++ language, not the old regulations too, where as WINDOWS and LINUX both support every different type of regulation on C++ that there has ever been, other wise known as "compatibility mode"

You look at old games, sims 1, had a windows release AND a MAC release, infact almost all games untill this generation of MAC's had a sepereate release for MAC's, why? Because apple are big shit thick programmers who think that anyone who uses a mAC will only want to do EXACTLY what the person programming the mac OS wants to do...

And with that i've just finished off this argument, kite, unless you have something SOLID like the evidence above as to why MAC's are amazing and so much better than PC's then you're not gunna win, so far i've jsut seen geeky myths in your posts... not solid evidence...

Oh, and intel graphics cards are a pile of shit compard the the new nVidia generation, for one not a single Intel video card (to my knowledge) support PhysX, Cuda, or OpenC.

Which is going to be MAC's downfall as they are the 3 greatest advances in 3D grphics, and MAC's can't handle a single one of them...

I wouldn't pay alot of extra money for a MAC, when I have a working PC that works well enough.
Now, I'm not saying Macs are worthless, but I'm saying I don't find any benefits for it that I need.
